Ron McLaughlin has more than 20 years of experience in issues management, and government relations and communications consulting in both the private and public sectors.
Over the past decade, Ron has provided strategic government relations advice to organizations such as Accenture, Genworth Canada, Economical Mutual Insurance, Canadian Tire, Element Financial, and Upper Lakes Group.
Ron was Chief of Staff to the Premier of Ontario from 1997 to 2000, providing policy and political advice, issues management, media support and communications, and served as the liaison with the PMO and offices of the premiers. He has also advised a number of candidates for senior political office.
On the business side, Ron helped raise capital and establish investment funds for EdgeStone Capital Partners and Borealis Capital Partners. He held senior positions with the Toronto Transit Commission and the Irving Group of Companies, and launched an entrepreneurial venture, Value Rent-a-Car, in Toronto.
Ron is also an experienced director. He has served on the board of directors of Dollar Financial Corporation and Pro-Demnity Insurance, and on a number of not-for-profit and charitable boards, including St Michael’s Hospital and Special Olympics Canada.
In addition to his role as the Chief Financial Officer of Hansell Advisory, Ron plays a key role in the business development and strategic planning of the law firm.
